Plan Outline

The Advanced German Studies program has a flexible entry-point policy which allows students to enrol in the language program that builds on their existing language skills. Students are advised to consult the German Studies staff to plan their entry point in the language sequence.

Plan Structure

A major in Advanced German Studies requires students to complete 42 units of credit in GERS courses.

Honours

Honours level study is available in German Studies. Students interested in Honours should refer to the Honours plan record for entry requirements.

Placement Information

Students with proficiency in German must consult the German Studies staff prior to enrolment, unless they have taken German in the previous session at UNSW. Please see the School website for more information.

For students admitted in their first year of study to GERS2400 or higher on the grounds of ability and/or previous study, such courses will be counted as Level 1 courses in terms of degree requirements.
