Description

Further develops and extends language skills acquired in GERS2400 and continues introduction to German Studies.


Learning Outcomes

  • Understand main points of everyday conversations in standard German
  • Comprehend and extract main information from media reports and a variety of other sources
  • Recognise socio-cultural differences and/or similarities between own culture and target language
  • Participate actively in most conversational situations
  • Deliver short, coherent speeches, express opinions
  • Write short, coherent text passages, personal letters, etc.

Assessment

  • Participation - 10%
  • Written sssignment - 30%
  • Tutorial presentation - 20%
  • Class tests - 40%
