Plan Outline

The Strategic Value Management specialisation has been developed for students seeking to develop strategic financial and resource management skills. It is aimed at students interested in up-to-date management accounting practices and who wish to be involved in strategic planning.

This specialisation focuses on contemporary developments in business management accounting, and management needs. It focuses on active managerial involvement in the use of resources in organisations with the aim of creating ongoing value for different stakeholders.

Note: Students who wish to obtain an accounting qualification which meets professional requirements should undertake the Master of Professional Accounting (program code 8409).

Plan Structure

In order to qualify for the Strategic Value Management specialisation, students must complete:

4 core courses
2 disciplinary core courses:
and 4 disciplinary courses to be selected from the following list:
and 2 elective courses selected from MCom offerings.

Note: Students who commenced prior to 2007 can complete COMM5004 instead of COMM5005.
