Program Description
The program is offered over a minimum of eight semesters, leading to the award of the degree of Bachelor of Construction Management and Property (BCMP). The program is structured as follows:
- Year 1 consists of a fixed program of compulsory courses.
- Years 2-4 consist of a mix of compulsory courses, Interdisciplinary Learning Courses, electives drawn from a specified pool of courses and open electives.
- Year 4 also offers the possibility of a thesis, and includes general education.

Honours
To be eligible for Honours, students must complete Thesis Foundation and Thesis Project (BLDG4501 & BLDG4502).
The grade of Honours is calculated 50:50 (i.e. average) of the final overall Weighted Average Mark (WAM) and the individual grade for BLDG4502.
Honours 1 Honours score of 75 or greater
Honours 2:1 Honours score between 72 to 74.99
Honours 2:2 -Honours score between 68 to 71.99
Academic Rules
2a. To fulfil the requirements for the generalist BCMP program, students must complete:
- 96 units of core courses, being all those prescribed core courses as outlined in the program structure
- 48 units of credit from the specified pool electives (Students undertaking the thesis option are only required to complete 24 UOC from the specified pool electives)
- 12 UOC of FBE electives from the list of Interdisciplinary Learning Courses
- 12 UOC of other FBE electives. These do not need to be taken from the Interdisciplinary Core Course list but can be chosen from any elective offered by the faculty
- 12 units of open (free) electives, selected in accordance with the faculty regulations for undergraduate study in the Faculty of the Built Environment
- 12 units of General Education in accordance with University requirements (see below)
- 96 units of core courses, being all those prescribed core courses as outlined in the program structure
- 60 units of credit being the set of courses specified for the specialisation being undertaken. (Students undertaking the Thesis option are only required to complete 36 UOC of the specialisation electives but their thesis topic must be related to the specialisation that the student is undertaking. The Program Director must endorse this substitution.)
- 12 units of BE electives from the list of Interdisciplinary Learning Courses
- 12 units of open (free) electives, selected in accordance with the faculty regulations for undergraduate study in the Faculty of the Built Environment.
- 12 units of General Education in accordance with University requirements (see below).
4 .As part of meeting program requirements, all students are required to have gained a minimum of 80 days work experience by appropriate employment in the construction industry. Those students seeking registration with the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors or the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors must have undertaken 6 months approved work experience in a QS related role.

1. The Australian Institute of Building, subject to completion of the Building area of specialisation, including 80 days of approved work experience

3. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, subject to completion of the Quantity Surveying area of specialisation including 6 months of approved work experience.
