The International Studies component in the program Bachelor of International Studies Bachelor of Laws provides the knowledge and skills essential for understanding and working in the rapidly changing global environment.

The European Studies plan requires completion of a core European Studies program, three years' study of a European language, and completion of a core program of courses in International Studies, together with an approved overseas program to be undertaken during the third and fourth years of study. EURO courses are designed to provide an interdisciplinary European context which addresses basic issues and problems in the study of European culture and society, seen from the perspective of current attempts to establish a new role for a united Europe.

The basic requirements for the European Studies plan are:

1. a total of 138 units of credit.

2. 18 units of credit in INST courses, including 12 units of credit at Level 1 and INST3900.

3. 36 units of credit in European Studies (EURO), including EURO1000 and EURO1001 at Level 1.

4. a sequence of 36 units of credit in one of the following approved European languages: FREN French, GERS German, GREK Greek (Modern), ITAL Italian, SPAN Spanish.

5. 48 units of credit at an approved overseas university over two sessions (INST3101 and INST3102).

To fulfill the requirements of the Bachelor of International Studies program, all students complete one year of overseas study (INST3101 and INST3102).
