Stream Outline

The recent technological advancements in distribution systems, automation and networks, have made supply chain management essential for competitive success. This specialisation in Supply Chain Management provides students with knowledge, technical expertise and managerial capabilities for overseeing the design and analysis of supply chains. The curriculum design enables a holistic exposure to supply chain management issues in business processes, business analytics, sourcing and procurement, marketing and information systems, while also providing students with the flexibility to focus on the areas that most interest them with regards to their future careers. This specialisation provides skills and knowledge suitable for a wide range of careers in all industries which involve logistics and supply chain functions, include manufacturing, energy, transportation, mining and retail industries. The emergence of social media, IoT, and big data means that the principles of supply chain management applies just as much to service industries as traditional manufacturing. Thus, the specialisation is structured to prepare students for tactical and management roles in logistics, sourcing, demand planning, and supply chains in both service as well as traditional production industries.
