Stream Outline

The Graduate Certificate in Marketing is a pathway program, into the Master of Marketing, for professionals who do not have an undergraduate degree.

Stream Structure

The Graduate Certificate in Marketing is offered full-time or part-time and requires the completion of two of the core courses (12UOC) and a further 12 UOC taken from either the remaining 2 core courses (12UOC ) or 12 UOC of elective courses.

Core courses
*Elective courses currently offered

Advanced Topics in Marketing (Electives) **

The following courses are not offered currently, but may be offered in future years
* NOTE: Not all electives are offered each year. Course content and elective course offerings vary from year to year, reflecting contemporary and emerging marketing issues of topical concern and the speciality areas of visiting professors and academics. Refer to Class Timetable on MyUNSW to see current offerings.

** Typically one or two Advanced Topics in Marketing courses are offered each year. In 2012, MARK6123 Advanced Topics in Marketing 2 covers the area of Sales and Key Account Management. Details of the areas covered by the Advanced Topics in Marketing courses(s) are available prior to the beginning of the academic year.

Academic Rules

To be considered for the Graduate Certificate in Marketing applicants should have more than five years professional marketing and business experience, however, meeting this minimum criterion does not guarantee admission.

An application is to be included as supporting documentation:

1. Detailed resume (outlining competencies, business acumen and achievements).
2. Evidence of other academic and professional qualifications.

All cases are reviewed by an Australian School of Business admissions committee and applicants may be required to undergo an assessment of prior knowledge.
