Program Description
This program provides an opportunity to obtain two professional degrees. It allows students to add the professionally recognised Law program to the professionally accredited City Planning (Hons) program offered by the Faculty of Built Environment.
Duration/Award
The program is a 6.5-year full-time combined program leading to the award of the two degrees of Bachelor of City Planning (Hons) and Bachelor of Laws (BCP (Hons) LLB). Because the Bachelor of City Planning program contains a percentage of General Education and electives which can be replaced by Law courses, the combined program requires only five additional semesters of study to gain both qualifications. In general, this study is taken concurrently with the BCP (Hons) program and both can be completed in a minimum of 6.5 years, including a work integrated practice year as part of BCP (Hons) requirements in year 4.
Entry Requirements
The combined program is open to students who satisfy both City Planning and Law entry conditions. Students may enter directly in Year 1 or may apply to transfer from the Planning program after the completion of one year. Entry on this basis is competitive and is based on a combination of ATAR or equivalent and tertiary results. Transfer after the second year will result in the student taking more than the minimum time to complete the combined degree.
Organisation
The BCP(Hons) LLB course is administered by the Faculty of Law. The Faculty requires the student to obtain approval of the Planning and Program in the School of the Built Environment for the City Planning components of their program. The final program and timetable must be approved by the Planning Discipline Director.

Honours in City Planning
The degree of Bachelor of City Planning is awarded with Honours after successful completion of a minimum of 168 units of credit from the Planning program and a total of at least 192 units of credit. The class of Honours in City Planning is awarded on the basis of meritorious performance, with WAM calculated based on the 168 UOC depth component completed in the City Planning (Honours) program.
Weighted Average Mark (WAM) for all completed courses:
The degree of Bachelor of City Planning is awarded with Honours after successful completion of a minimum of 168 units of credit from the Planning program and a total of at least 192 units of credit. - Honours (silent): WAM greater than or equal to 50.0 and below or equal to 67.99
