Program Description

This combined degree program, the Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Social Science, enables students to complete a major sequence from those available in Science (see Table A) and a specialisation in Social Science within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

For admission to the program, students must satisfy the entry requirements to the faculty of Science as well as to the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

This degree program is administered by Faculty of Science.

Program Objectives and Learning Outcomes

Please refer to the program objectives as listed for the Bachelor of Science (BSc) program 3970 and the Bachelor of Social Science (BSocSc) program 3420.

Program Structure

Program Requirements
The program requires the successful completion of 192 units of credit (UOC) in an approved sequence of study.

The minimum requirement of the BSc component is 84 UOC from Science faculty courses, including completion of a Science major, as listed in Table A (Majors)

The minimum requirement of the BA component is 84 UOC from Arts and Social Sciences faculty courses. This includes the Social Science core program of 48 UOC, outlined below.

The remaining 24 UOC may be taken from the Science Table A (Majors) or Table B (Minors), or from the Arts and Social Sciences faculty.

Social Science Core Program (48 UOC)
Note: Students may complete a major (48 UOC) in a Social Science discipline by using 12 Units of Credit (UoC) of the remaining 24 UoC required for this combined degree program.
