The Bachelor of Commerce (Liberal Studies) is a highly valued business qualification that opens the door to a wide variety of careers. By combining rigorous business studies with a liberal studies component, you are able to design a degree which allows you to undertake studies in the areas of accounting, finance, human resource management, marketing, information systems, management, international business, business economics or business law while at the same time following your interests through studies in Arts, Social Sciences, Languages, and/or Science. Program Objectives and Learning Outcomes On successful completion of the BCom (Liberal Studies), students will have the ability to:
The program normally consists of 32 courses or 192 units of credit (UOC) in approved courses to be completed over a period of four academic years.
Compulsory core courses account for 24 UOC (4 courses)
Note: For students intending to complete a major in Actuarial Studies, MATH1151 and MATH1251 should be completed instead of ECON1203 . Please refer to Actuarial Studies for further information.
Flexible core courses account for 24 UOC (4 courses). Students should choose four courses from the following list:

Major requirements account for up to 96 UOC (16 courses) Liberal Studies courses account for a minimum of 36 UOC (6 courses) chosen from two out of the following three streams: Humanities, Language or Science. In order to obtain a third major in Liberal Studies, students should undertake all 9 Liberal Studies courses (54 UOC) from one area of approved study. The approved areas of study are tabled below
Critical Thinking and Analysis accounts for 6 UOC (1 course)
Professional and Contextual Skills accounts for 12 UOC (2 courses) which are selected from the list below
