Plan Outline

This plan covers the core study sequence in the Screen and Sound for the Bachelor of Media (program 3433).

Plan Structure

Level 1
Core Courses - Media
Core Courses - Screen and Sound major
Elective Courses - Screen and Sound major

Level 2
In Level 2 students do core courses in Modes of Publishing and either Media Mobilities or Global Media. They also investigate contemporary theories of cinema and pick up electives in screen and sound theory or production. These cover areas such as video production, audio design, working with image and sound, analogue photography, the Hollywood system, film genres and styles, and documentary film and history.

Level 3
Level 3 core courses investigate key issues in the role of film and media in public culture, aspects of film history, and media technologies and innovation. Students are also able to do more production or theory electives.

Honours

Honours level study is available in Screen and Sound. Students interested in Honours should refer to the Honours plan record for entry requirements.
