Plan Outline

The Information Systems Honours Program is an appropriate preparation for a career in industry, offering more advanced level coursework, and the chance to develop individual skills working independently on the research and thesis. The program provides a broad exposure to advanced areas in Information Systems and Information Technology, as well as a high degree of specialization in these disciplines. The Honours Program is also designed as a preparation for PhD research in Information Systems and Information Technology. Students successfully completing this program will be in an excellent position to continue to research in Information Systems and Information Technology at any university.

To satisfy the Honours requirements, students undertake an additional year of study, completing Honours level courses (both compulsory and elective) and undertaking a research thesis. Students must have completed the prerequisite courses prior to their Honours year.

Entry Requirements

In order to be accepted into the Honours program, candidates must have completed a major in Information Systems (or an approved equivalent degree). Normally, the candidate must have attained a minimum 70% average in Information Systems courses and should not have failed any courses throughout their undergraduate degree.
