Description

This course provides potential IT and line managers with an understanding of the issues involved in designing, developing and implementing Decision Support System (DSS) applications. In particular, the course will focus on specific DSS technologies including DSS (in general), data warehousing, data mining, on-line analytical processing (OLAP), group decision support systems (GDSS), enterprise information systems (EIS), artificial intelligent systems, knowledge management, and web-based DSS. Case studies describing organisational experiences with DSS applications will be discussed. The focus of the course is on the managerial issues relevant to these technologies, and not on the technologies themselves.
