Plan Outline

The Information Systems (IS) major is tailored to students who are interested in business and management aspects of the discipline. You will learn about business IS in various complex decision making contexts and how these systems, and the information generated by them, support the modern organisation in achieving both day-to-day and long-term objectives. Graduates from this specialisation have a range of broad career paths to choose including: business analysis; project management; data administration; IS security consulting; IS applications development; knowledge management; e-business systems management and business intelligence systems. With a BCom (IS) you can combine Information Systems with another Commerce discipline such as Accounting, Marketing, Actuarial Studies, Economics, Business Law & Taxation, Banking & Finance or Organisation & Management.

Plan Structure

Students must complete:
  • 48 units of credit (UOC) from the Required and Options Course List below to fulfil requirements for a single major
  • 42 units of credit (UOC) from the Required and Options Course List below to fulfil requirements for a double major
  • 24 units of credit (UOC) from the Required or Options Course Lists below to fulfil requirements for a minor
