Plan Outline


This plan is for students intending to undertake a Honours program in Management.

Plan Structure


Students need to have completed the requirements for a single major or double major in Management
  • For a double major, complete 5 required courses and 2 Options. Note: at least 1 Option must be from List A
  • For a single major, complete 5 required courses and 3 Options. Note: at least 1 Option must be from List A

Required Courses
MGMT3708 Introduction to Research Methods in Employmemt & Management is a prerequisite for Year 4 Honours and would normally be taken in the Session preceding Honours Year

Options

Honours Level
During an Honours year, a student must complete the following:
  • A thesis of approximately 20,000 words (50% weighting)
  • Research seminar attendance
  • Two approved MGMT courses (50% weighting)

Entry Requirements


  • For admission to the Honours program the student needs to have met the minimum requirement of at least an average of 71% WAM in their Management major.
  • It is also a requirement that students successfully undertake MGMT 3708, a compulsory pre-Honours research methods course.
  • If there are more applicants than the School can accept, admission will be determined according to academic merit.
  • Students who wish to be considered for admission into the Honours program should complete an Expression of Interest form and submit it to the School Office no later than the Friday of the lask week in November.
  • Students will be notified of their acceptance in late December, after final marks for Session 2 have been released. Except in exceptional circumstances, they will also be assigned an Honours supervisor at this stage. A final decision on the thesis topic will be made in consultation with their nominated supervisor. Students are expected to begin their preliminary research over the summer vacation.
  • In some circumstances, late applications for the Honours program can be considered. Contact the Honours Coordinator for further information.
