Plan Summary
The School teaches undergraduate and postgraduate programs in media production and its contexts, film aesthetics and history, the analysis and history of drama and theatrical performance, and dance education.
The School is housed in the Sir Robert Webster Building and employs sophisticated production, post-production digitally-equipped laboratories, excellent rehearsal spaces and theatres, as well as modern teaching spaces. The major in Media, Culture and Technology provides students with a progressive understanding of the social, cultural and phenomenological impacts of media and communication technologies in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The major consists of no fewer than 42 units of credit and normally involves two years of Upper Level study.
Before proceeding to a major sequence at Upper Level, all students must take at least 6 or 12 units of credit in Level 1 including the core course MEFT1100 - An Introduction to Media: Television, Telephones and Everyday Life. At Level 2, at least 12 units of credit from:
