This interdisciplinary course aims to introduce students to the practice of researching art, architecture and design in a range of regional and international contexts. Through a series of seminars and independent study, the course will introduce some significant methodologies developed by cross-disciplinary practitioners in art, architecture and design, and then provide an opportunity for students to undertake guided independent research on particular objects/collections/sites/projects. Assessment will be through attendance and active participation in class, collaborative research, a short seminar presentation to fellow students, and a 3000 – 3500 image/text essay.
