This course will provide you information about the epidemiology and the pathophysiology of immune, respiratory, metabolic and cardiovascular diseases as well as ageing. You will also gain knowledge as how to set up and to implement exercise testing and programming in those special populations in order to improve the symptoms or the pathology itself as well as how to manage the interaction between exercise and medications in those special populations. By the end of the semester you will be able to successfully use exercise testing and programming in those populations to improve their health and quality of life. The approach in this course will include problem based learning as well as more traditional evidence based information provided during the lectures.
