Description

This course will use negotiation as a framework for the further development of analysis, communication and teamwork skills. Formal lectures on negotiation theory will be followed by teamwork assessment of appropriate negotiation strategies and the conduction of formal negotiations between teams. These negotiations will be assessed. The course will also involve a project-based approach to integrating the material learnt in the various sub-disciplines of environmental engineering. This will involve the identification of major issues and the development of solutions for open-ended problems including considerations of the environmental, economic and social impacts of the proposed solutions. This course is focal in Year 3 of the undergraduate environmental engineering program and reinforces the material covered in Years 1, 2 and concurrently in Year 3.
