Description

Design and analysis of structural detail including analysis of bolted and bonded joints. Vibration of continuous systems; flexural vibration of beams. Practical application of finite elements to analysis and design of aircraft and space structures; nonlinear analysis including geometric and material nonlinearity and analysis of contact; dynamic analysis including free and forced vibration and transient solutions; FEA applied to structural design and optimisation; interfaces with CAD systems. Fatigue and fracture including load spectra, fatigue life prediction, crack growth, damage tolerance and residual strength. Aeroelasticity including divergence, control reversal and flutter.
