Description

Includes private tuition on major instrument and participation in university ensembles, plus lectures and masterclasses on performance practice, pedagogy and conducting, to refine individual performance skills, and to develop competencies for teaching performance at all levels of the school curriculum.


Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course students should be able to:
  • Perform competently on a range of instruments for classroom teaching including trumpet
  • Have the ability to construct appropriate instrumental programs
  • Demonstrate performance capabilities in a variety of ensembles
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skill on their major instrument.

Assessment

  • Major practical instrument - 50%
  • Minor practical instrument - 25%
  • University ensembles (x2) - 20%
  • Australian Ensemble reports - 5%
