Description

Continuation of KORE2000. Develops literacy skills focusing on a variety of writings. Includes acquisition of Sino-Korean characters for further in-depth language study.


Learning Outcomes

Upon completing this course, students should be able to:
  • Understand and express an opinion at the paragraph level on familiar social topics such as occupations, events, nations, cultures, as well as familiar personal topics
  • Perform language functions needed for maintaining social relationships, for example, explaining, describing, rejecting
  • Understand the differences between written and spoken texts, and produce them accordingly
  • Acquisition of approximately 100 core Sino-Korean characters.

Assessment

  • Performance in class - 10%
  • Assignments (x5) - 15%
  • Oral presentation - 25%
  • Written tests (x2)- 50%
