Description

Expands and consolidates the student's mastery of a range of practical dance styles.


Learning Outcomes

Students who successfully complete this course should be able to:
  • Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and skill in dance technique applied to a 'work'
  • Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and skill in performance quality applied to a 'work'
  • Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and skill in describing and analysing choreographic and teaching practices in a dance class
  • Demonstrate choreography in a group 'work' that shows manipulation of the elements of dance and choreographic principles and processes to effectively communicate a specific concept/intent.

Assessment

  • Demonstration of dance technique in a 'work' - 20%
  • Demonstration of performance quality in a 'work' - 20%
  • Participation (Log book and 1000 words summary) - 20%
  • Choreography - 40%
