Program Structure
The combined degree may be constituted by a combination of any two of the following postgraduate programs offered by UNSW Arts and Social Sciences with the exception of the combination of those listed in the exclusion list.
- Master of Applied Linguistics
- Master of Development Studies in Refugees and Displacement
- Master of Development Studies in International Development
- Master of Education (all streams)
- Master of Educational Leadership
- Master of International Relations
- Master of Journalism and Communication
- Master of Public Policy and Governance
- Master of Public Relations and Advertising
- Master of Translation
Students who combine a Masters of Education (TESOL) specialisation with a Master of Applied Linguistics, need only to take two LING electives in their MEd, not four, and can take any two additional MEd elective courses, including a research methodology course and/or EDST5888 Research Project.
- Master of Development Studies in International Development / Master of Development Studies in Refugees and Displacement
ARTS5503 Academic Writing (6 UOC)
This course can be taken as an additional course for students wishing to develop their academic writing skills. It will not count towards the program requirements. Click here for further details about the course.

Entry Requirements
- A recognised Bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) and requirements specific to the individual Master (one year, 48 UOC) programs chosen.
- A maximum of 18 UOC (three courses) for each stream may be credited from previous postgraduate study.
