Program Description
Program Objectives and Graduate Attributes
- A human ecology perspective of health and disease and expertise in relevant investigative methods, with
- Evidence-based, culturally appropriate and cost-effective approaches to disease control, health promotion and health services development based on real life public health interventions, and which emphasises
- Development of infrastructure for policy development, monitoring and surveillance, research and evaluation, workforce development, and program delivery that directs and supports public health action to promote, protect and maintain the health of populations.
Program Structure
The program is offered as a 36 unit of credit (UOC) program comprising six courses from the Masters program.
A. Core Courses
B. Three courses (18UoC) from recommended international health-related elective offerings for the Master of International Public Health program.
PLUS
C. One other elective course from any of the (6UoC) courses offered in the SPHCM.
Additional Course Requirement for International Students.
Students from non-English speaking countries who have not previously completed a degree in Australia or other English-speaking country are required to take the following additional preparatory course in their first semester. This course is also available for all other students to assist in gaining maximum benefit from their study. The course is made available at no charge to students and does not contribute to the UOC requirements of the degree.

Fees
Admission Requirements
- Honours or postgraduate qualification in a health-related or public health-related discipline; or
- Two years full-time professional experience in a health-related or public health-related discipline, including as a volunteer in a health or public health organisation, or equivalent experience professional experience acquired as part of a health-related degree of 4 or more years duration (e.g. MBBS, Bachelor of Nursing,)
- In exceptional circumstances, applications will be considered for entry where the applicant has extensive professional health or public health experience but does not hold a formal qualification in a relevant discipline. (e.g Nurses, Paramedics).
