This Graduate Diploma program provides graduates with opportunities to extend their professional knowledge. Candidates may undertake interdisciplinary studies and, subject to approval, are able to take courses from any school in the Engineering Faculty, other Faculties of the University and other universities or institutions. Consequently, study programs best suited to the individual needs of candidates may be selected.
Period of candidature: The minimum period is 2 academic semesters (full-time) or 4 academic semesters (part-time) from the date of enrolment. The maximum period of candidature is 4 academic semesters (full-time) and 8 academic semesters (part-time). In special cases an extension of time may be granted. Candidates must complete 36 units of credit in graduate courses, 24 of which must be selected from the electives listed under the Biomedical Engineering - 8660 program listing in this handbook. Note that the BIOM9914 Masters Project (Masters Thesis) is not available in this program nor are undergraduate courses allowed.
Before final course selection candidates should submit an intended program plan to the Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering for discussion and approval. Candidates who meet certain academic progress requirements may be considered for transfer to the 8660 Masters program with advanced standing. Further enquires should be made with the School.
