Plan Outline

This program is designed for teachers who would like to specialise in the field of gifted education. This rewarding program focuses on contemporary issues involving gifted and talented students as well as the development of curricula and teaching strategies for their learning needs.

Plan Structure

The program consists of eight courses, including four core courses in gifted education, plus an appropriate course in research methodology, a research project (EDST5888) and two elective courses chosen from the Master of Education program.

Four core courses can be chosen from the following:

EDST5800 Current Issues in Educ. of IGC (6 UOC)
EDST5802 Identification of GC (6 UOC)
EDST5803 Devlp Effect Programs for GS (6 UOC)
EDST5805 Curricula and Teaching Strat (6 UOC)
EDST5807 Social & Emot. Devel. of IGC (6 UOC)

At least one research methodology course must be chosen from the following:

EDST5101 Experimental Research Design (6 UOC)
EDST5103 Survey Research (6 UOC)
EDST5120 Qualitative Research Method. (6 UOC)
