Plan Summary
This specialisation focuses on the effective use of information systems and supporting technology within organisations. Specifically the program concentrates on how information systems are planned, analysed, designed, operated and managed.
The specialisation is aimed at students interested in information systems and their ability to support organisational objectives. Opportunities in the information systems and information technology area range widely depending on individual skills and preferences: IT consultants, database administrators, EDP auditors, e-commerce specialists, World Wide Web designers, and technical managers. In order to qualify for the Information Systems specialisation, students must complete:

Note: COMM5001, COMM5002 and COMM5003 must be taken at the beginning of studies, and COMM5004 must be taken at the end of the program. The MCom (Information Systems) meets the requirements for Professional Level accreditation of the Australian Computer Society. The basis of accreditation is:
