Description
The Journal of Equity was awarded an A ranking in 2010 ERA list published by the Australian Research Council. The journal has a high calibre editorial board includes members of the judiciary, academy and legal profession.
Interns will be involved in the following tasks (including but not limited to):
- Formatting articles into house style
- Doing research to identify issues for future articles and assisting in identifying and approaching authors
- Day to day management of the journal
- Attendance at journal board meetings where relevant
- Attendance at journal conferences where relevant

Learning Outcomes
- Communicate well both orally and in writing.
- Understand at a deeper level some of the key academic issues related to equity.
- Work successfully as part of a small but collaborative team, assuming increased levels of responsibility.
- Demonstrate initiative and signs of leadership where appropriate.
- Appreciate and respect difference and diversity, often developed by reading articles from a range of differing standpoints and by liaising with work colleagues with different personalities and backgrounds.
- Reflect on the quality of their own work in order to improve over time.
- Appreciate what goes into writing legal journal articles so that they can apply these skills to their own work, with a view to submitting that work for publication, where appropriate.
- Understand and obey the principles of confidentiality in the processes of refereeing journal articles and liaising with authors as well as in the conduct of board meetings.
