Description

Traces the growth and operation of Hollywood as an industry as well as a global cultural phenomenon; examines the technological, political and economic determinants that have shaped the history of the American film industry; and relates Hollywood's characteristic modes of narration and representation to their industrial, technological, and political conditions of existence.
