Description

Appreciate the scale, breadth and diversity of literature and encounter extraordinary works which challenge, inspire and stimulate the process of informed and critical reading. You will develop an understanding of the aesthetic and contextual significance of literary texts from a range of periods, locations and genres.

What You'll Study

As an English student you can select from a broad range of courses covering literature around the globe and from the early modern period to the present. Some courses such as Australian or American Literature focus on particular locations, while others are organised around themes, genres and artistic movements. Some Creative Writing courses can be taken within an English major or minor.
