Women’s and Gender Studies at UNSW explores the interdisciplinary academic study of women, feminism, gender and sexualities. Study of Women’s and Gender Studies illustrates how gender has intersected with race and other discriminatory categories of difference to sustain unequal social relations.

What you will study

You will be introduced to Women’s and Gender Studies through the course Gendered Worlds which will present you with women’s world history, and gender analysis as applied in History and other disciplines. You will also study the history of sexuality and then choose from a wide selection of subjects such as sex, human rights and justice, gender and queer critiques, society and desire as well as gender relations in Australia.
