Social Media, Mobile Media, Ubiquitous Computing, Web Television and Microblogging – the new media landscape is complex, fragmented and evolving. Media, Culture and Technology provides you with a critical interdisciplinary understanding of the social, political and cultural impacts of media and communications technologies in the 20th and 21st centuries.
What you will study Your studies in Media, Culture and Technology will teach you the dynamics of intermedia and emerging media forms as they are played out in relation to aesthetics, politics, technology, transnational media and performance. You will undertake in-depth research into the key areas of the media industries and develop skills in critical thinking. You can also incorporate complementary courses from other study areas such as Film Studies and Theatre and Performance Studies.
