Criminology

Description

Criminology is an interdisciplinary field devoted to the study of crime, deviance, social control and the legal system. As a Criminology student you will gain a critical understanding of crime and justice issues in our society including victimisation, juvenile justice, drug related harm, community safety, Indigenous justice and organised crime. You will be challenged to understand how research can be applied to develop a greater insight into criminological issues and bring about social change to benefit communities.

What you will study

Our Criminology courses will provide you with a thorough understanding of crime and justice issues in contemporary society. You will use a variety of methods and insights from Law, Philosophy, Psychology and Sociology to evaluate key issues. Your lectures and tutorials will feature problem based learning scenarios, project work and guest lectures from experts in the field.
