Hispanic Studies

Description

Spanish is one of the world's major languages, spoken not only in Spain but in many countries, particularly in Latin America. Hispanic Studies aims to provide students with an informed understanding of the Spanish-speaking world through the study of Spanish language, literature, civilisation, linguistics and history. This approach aims to enable to students to achieve a high level of communicative competence in Spanish while offering them a critical understanding of history, society and culture.

Studying Hispanic Studies at UNSW

The study of Hispanic Studies at UNSW is primarily through the School of Humanities and Languages in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and caters to both elementary and advanced students.

At an undergraduate level, courses in Hispanic Studies are available in language, literature, linguistics and history. Postgraduate programs at Masters and Doctorate levels are also available.
