Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Description

Obstetrics and Gynaecology is an area of specialisation in medicine which deals with the care of women from pregnancy until after delivery (obstetrics) and with the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the female reproductive organs (gynaecology).

Studying Obstetrics and Gynaecology at UNSW

Obstetrics and Gynaecology is primarily a postgraduate area of specialisation in medicine, although undergraduate medical students undergo a nine week rotation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology during Year 5 of the medicine program at UNSW. The School of Women's and Children's Health (http://swch.med.unsw.edu.au/) offers postgraduate opportunities at Masters and PhD levels to both local and international students.
