Studying Vision Science at UNSW

At UNSW, Vision Science is offered as a major within the Bachelor of Science program 3970 and Bachelor of Advanced Science program, 3972.

An alternative to the Bachelor of Optometry Bachelor of Science, the Vision Science major is designed for students who are interested in pursuing a laboratory based path and do not wish to practise as clinical optomtrists. Employment opportunities exist in a wide range of optics, vision science and opthalmology research laboratories which involve the development of vision correction devices such as contact lenses, spectacles, ocular implants, imaging, and drug development.
