Description

A knowledge of Latin gives students direct access to some of the greatest works of Western literature, philosophy, scientific theory and legal oratory. It can also offer significant advantages to students pursuing other areas of language study, such as linguistics, English or other modern European languages.

Studying Latin at UNSW

The study of Latin at UNSW is primarily through the School of Languages and Linguistics (http://languages.arts.unsw.edu.au). The School offers two Level One courses for beginners and also two intermediate level courses for students who have completed two first year Latin courses.
