Description

Modern Greek is one of the very important community languages in Australia, as well as a language with a great heritage. Greek Studies aims to provide students with proficiency in spoken and written Modern Greek through practical language work. Greek Studies at UNSW also involves an understanding of the way Greek society has developed through the study of Greek literature, history and culture in addition to language.

Studying Greek at UNSW

Programs in Greek Studies are available for beginners with no knowledge of Greek, intermediate students with basic knowledge of the language, and advanced students with HSC or equivalent knowledge (see the table below for more information about programs). Generally, Modern Greek Studies is taught in small groups and in Greek where possible. Some Modern Greek programs are offered by correspondence or online.
