Optometry is the study of vision and the visual system. It encompasses the study of measuring, assessing and correcting vision (for example, by prescribing lenses), as well as eye health, vision problems, eyes diseases and other abnormalities. At UNSW, professional training (including clinical optometry) is integrated with the study of the fundamentals of visual and ocular science.

Studying Optometry At UNSW

Optometry may be studied at the undergraduate level through the specialist degree Bachelor of Optometry, offered through the Faculty of Science (www.science.unsw.edu.au), or through the combined Science/Optometry degree program. Optometry is also offered at a postgraduate level through PhD (Research) and Masters (Research or Coursework) degree programs.
