Description Pharmacology is the study of drugs and their effects on living tissue and whole organisms. Drugs are chemical substances that modify physiological functioning or influence pathological processes. Students of Pharmacology examine how drugs are discovered, how they are absorbed and eliminated, their mechanism of action and side effects, and how they assist in maintaining health and counteracting illness and disease.
