Program Description
Admission to the program is subject to a satisfactory music audition and an acceptable level of attainment in year 12 music studies or equivalent. Applicants must also satisfy the entry requirements to Engineering as well as to the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

Requirements for the Bachelor of Music in Dual Mode
The basic requirements for the degree in Dual mode (144 UOC) are:

High achieving students who secure a WAM of 75 in each program and who have completed at least 48 UOC in each program at UNSW are eligible for the award of their Pass Degree "with Distinction".Honours
High achieving BMus students (in Single or Dual mode) who have successfully completed all course requirements for levels 1-3 may apply to continue their fourth year of study in the Bachelor of Music (Honours) program 3440. A minimum WAM of 70 is required for entry into Honours. Further information about the Bachelor of Music (Honours) program will be made available in the 2015 Handbook.Performance Ensembles
BMus students must take part in a required number of the performance ensembles offered by the School.Academic Rules
- enrol in the Bachelor of Music and complete 144 UOC
- complete the core requirements
- complete the stream courses and prescribed elective requirements
- complete at least 36 UOC of Level 1 courses before enrolling in Level 2 courses
- specify their major at the time of enrolment into Level 2
- complete at least 36 UOC of Level 2 courses before enrolling in Level 3 courses
- complete at least 36 UOC of Level 3 courses before enrolling in Level 4 courses

Honours
Honours in the BE component will be awarded for meritorious performance over the degree program with special attention paid to a candidate's performance in the final year courses and thesis project, please see link to Honours Policy Rules.Academic Rules
Academic rules relating to the Bachelor of Engineering in dual degree mode are as follows:- Students may not count more than 60 units of credit of level 1 courses in this 168 units of credit;
- Students may only commence Level 2 courses once 30 units of credit of Level 1 courses have been successfully completed;
- Students may only commence level 3 courses once 72 units of credit have been successfully completed.
