Program Summary
After commencing at UNSW@ADFA students may apply to undertake the Bachelor of Engineering (Aeronautical Engineering)/Bachelor of Arts (BE/BA).
Owing to current military policy, students will normally only be considered for a combined degree if they have sufficient credit for previous study (advanced standing) to enable them to complete the requirements for this combined degree in four years. Program Objectives and Learning Outcomes The program objectives and learning outcomes are the combined objectives and learning outcomes of the Bachelor of Arts (4400) and Bachelor of Engineering (Aeronautical Engineering (4424).
The proposed structures set out the minimum requirements for each component of the combined degree programs. Individual program plans must be developed and approved, in consultation with the Course Authority for each School, prior to enrolment in the combined degree program.
COMPONENT (UNITS OF CREDIT) Engineering courses (174 UOC) BA Major (48 UOC) Arts Elective courses (12 UOC) Directed Studies - Introduction to Strategic Studies (6 UOC) TOTAL FOR COMBINED PROGRAM 240 UOC The full requirements of the BE must be completed to meet Engineers Australia requirements.
Due to the cross-disciplinary nature of a combined degree programs, enrolled students are exempt from the University's General Education requirements. Enrolment in this progam is restricted to Midshipmen, Officer Cadets and Advanced Students in the Australian Defence Force and equivalent ranks from selected foreign Defence Forces.
