Stream Outline

Chemistry is a science which deals with the design, synthesis, analysis and properties of molecules. The study of chemistry will appeal to those with an enquiring, analytical mind and good powers of observation and deduction.

Stream Structure

A minor in Chemistry is comprised of 48 UOC of courses as follows:

Stage 1
Note: Higher level Chemistry courses (CHEM1031 Higher Chemistry A and CHEM1041 Higher Chemistry B) may be substituted for these courses.

PLUS one of:

Stage 2 / Stage 3

24 units of credit of level 2 or higher chemistry (CHEM) courses which must include:
  1. Courses at level 3 or higher in Chemistry have level 2 Chemistry courses as prerequisites. students should be aware of these prerequisites and plan their enrolment accordingly.
