Stream Outline
• Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Arts and Business, and Bachelor of Media students commencing from 2016

The Asian Studies minor stream aims to develop a basic understanding of the Asian region, drawing on the tools of several disciplines. The Asian Studies minor stream is an interdisciplinary stream offering you the opportunity to study and understand the Asian region as well as Australia’s place in it. Interdisciplinary methods aim to enhance the development of an Asian perspective in the study of Asian societies and to enable the critical analysis of the literature and scholarship on Asia.
Stream Learning Outcomes
- Articulate a general body of knowledge about the diversity and dynamism of the Asian region
- Recognise the use of interdisciplinary methods and techniques to understand key challenges for the region and Australia’s relationship with it
- Identify diverse views and competing perspectives on key issues in the region
Stream Structure
You must complete the following Level 1 core courses:

- ARTS1211 Australia's Asian Context (6 UOC)
You must complete at least 6 UOC at Level 2.
