Stream Outline
European Studies is an interdisciplinary area of study focusing on modern European societies and their cultures, past and present, and their historical traditions. The minor stream in European studies provides you a basic understanding of the political, ideological, social and cultural forces that have shaped modern and contemporary Europe. European Studies brings together the perspectives and approaches of disciplines such as History, Philosophy, Cultural and Literary Studies, Politics and International Relations, to explore modern Europe.
Stream Structure
You must complete the following Level 1 core courses:
- ARTS1780 Concepts of Europe (6 UOC)
- ARTS1781 Europe and the Modern World (6 UOC)
You must complete at least 6 UOC at Level 2:
- ARTS2781 Postwar Europe (6 UOC)
- ARTS2785 Europe between the Wars (6 UOC)
- ARTS2786 Minorities in Modern Europe (6 UOC)
- ARTS2787 European Cities (6 UOC)
