Ecology is a branch of Science concerned with the interrelationship of organisms and their environment.
Stream Structure
A major in Ecology is comprised of 72 units of credit of courses as follows:

Stage 2
PLUS 6 units of credit from:
- BIOS2031 Biology of Invertebrates (6 UOC)
- BIOS2051 Flowering Plants (6 UOC)
- BIOS2061 Vertebrate Zoology (6 UOC)
Recommended electives (these courses are not required but are recommended as good complementary courses for this major):
Stage 3
- BIOS3601 Advanced Field Biology (6 UOC)
- BIOS6671 Biodiversity and Conservation of Natural Resources (6 UOC) or BIOS3671 Conservation Biology and Biodiversity (Advanced) 1(6 UOC)
PLUS 12 units of credit from:
- BIOS3061 Plant Ecology (6 UOC)
- BIOS3091 Marine and Aquatic Ecology (6 UOC)
- BIOS3161 Life in Arid Lands (6 UOC)
- BIOS3081 Ocean to Estuarine Ecosystems (6 UOC) or BIOS3681 Ocean to Estuarine Ecosystems (Advanced)2 (6 UOC)
