Stream Outline
The School of Management offers a Management Honours program, designed for students seeking to deepen their analytical skills and research techniques. The Honours program may only be taken if the students have completed their pass degree with a major in Management. The Honours program is also open to students who have completed a comparable pass degree at another University.
To satisfy the Honours requirements, students undertake an additional year of study, completing Honours level courses (both compulsory and elective) and undertaking a research thesis. Students must have completed the prerequisite courses prior to their Honours year.

Stream Structure
Students need to have completed the requirements for a single major or double major in Management in their Pass degree.
Compulsory courses
MGMT3708 Research Methods in Employmemt & Management is a prerequisite for Year 4 Honours and would normally be taken in the Semester preceding Honours Year.

Honours Level
During an Honours year, a student must complete the following:
A research thesis of approximately 20,000 words.

- MGMT4750 Management 4 (Honours) F/T (12 UOC)
Students should enrol in MGMT4750 in both Semester 1 and Semester 2.
Plus the following four courses:
- COMM4002 Quantitative Research Methods (6 UOC)
- COMM4003 Qualitative Research Methods (6 UOC)
- COMM8000 Intellectual Foundations (Intellectual Foundations UOC)
- COMM8001 Introduction to Res Methods (Introduction to Research Methods UOC)
Entry Requirements
To progress to Year 4 Honours in Management a student must:
1. Complete 48 units of credit in Management satisfying the requirements of a major sequence;
2. Pass all these courses and obtain an average grade of 70% or better in these courses
3. Obtain the permission of the Honours Coordinator to undertake the Honours year
For admission to the Honours program the minimum requirement is an average of 70% for all MGMT subjects. If there are more applicants than the School can accommodate, admission will be determined according to students' academic merit.
Students will be notified once final marks for Semester 2 become available. Students are expected to begin their preliminary research over the summer vacation.
