Plan Outline

This plan only applies to students who commenced their degree program before 2009.

This plan is for a major stream in Advanced Spanish and is suitable for students commencing at intermediate entry level or higher.

Plan Structure

A major stream comprises 42 units of credit in Spanish courses made up of 12 units of credit in Level 1 language courses plus 30 Upper Level units of credit from language, linguistics, literature, cultural studies, film and/or history courses.

Year 1

OR

Years 2 and 3

30 Upper Level units of credit from the linguistics, language, literature, cultural studies and film courses.

Honours

Honours level study is available in Spanish. Students interested in Honours should refer to the Honours plan record for entry requirements.

Placement Information

Students with prior knowledge of Spanish or background speakers are required to complete an online placement application form. For further information see the School Website.

Further Information

For students admitted in their first year of study to ARTS2570 or higher on the grounds of ability and/or previous study, such courses will be counted as Level 1 courses in terms of degree requirements.
