This plan is for a Major in Quantitative Risk within the Advanced Mathematics program – 3986 - and requires permission from the Head of School of Mathematics and Statistics to enrol in.

  • Level III Mathematics or Statistics courses totalling 12 UOC as approved by the Head of School of Mathematics and Statistics or nominee.
  • General Education totalling 6 UOC (courses from the Australian School of Buisness cannot be counted as general education in this major)

Stage 4 (Honours)
Honours year totalling 48 UOC, selected with advice and subject to approval of the Head of School of Mathematics and Statistics or nominee. This will consist of a thesis or project, taken by enrolling in 18 UOC from:
typically over multiple semesters, plus 30 UOC selected from the following or other approved courses:

Notes:
  1. enrolment in courses outside the School of Mathematics and Statistics may be subject to approval from the controlling School or Department.
  2. All ACTL5XXX and FINS4XXX courses taken as part of the Quantitative Risk Honours count as Science for the purpose of meeting the degree rules.
  3. The grade of Quantitative Risk honours will be decided on the weighted average mark of those courses taken for Quantitative Risk honours.
